Looks Like I'll Be A Witness For The Defense In The Underwear Bomber Case

by Kurt Haskell

Today was the day for final jury selection in the Underwear Bomber case. I watched some of it on Tuesday and I was interested to see which jurors were picked. The final jury was set to be picked today at 1:30. I adjusted my schedule so that I could be down there at 1:30 today. I had a trial a few blocks away that was due to last until around 1:00 today. My plan was to head over there when I finished my trial. As my trial was ending, I got the following text from my brother "I hear that you will be testifying in the underwear bomber case". This was news to me as my status as a witness was undetermined as of Tuesday. I gave my brother a call and he said he heard on the radio, that stand-by Anthony Chambers said in court this morning that I would be testifying. While walking to Federal Court to watch final jury selection, I ran into someone that works with stand-by attorney Chambers. He told me that final jury selection was done as it didn't take as long as expected. He also told me that it was Umar that said he would call me as a witness, not Chambers. He then said Chambers is right there, go talk to him and he pointed across the street. Chambers was standing on the sidewalk across the street. I talked to Chambers for a minute and we agreed to talk again soon. He said I won't be testifying for approximately another month as the trial is supposed to be lengthy. I then headed back to my office and found out that I had messages from Fox National News and the A.P. I talked to Ed White from the A.P. on Tuesday and he misquoted me in the article he wrote. Specifically, Ed White asked what I though about Umar making outbursts in court. I said the following "I saw him before boarding and he never said anything, I've seen him in court several times, and I even saw him when he lit his fake bomb and his crotch was burning and he never makes a peep. This is totally out of character for him." You can see how Ed White did a cut and paste job of my quote here:

http://www.ydr.com/crime/ci_19035789

Note that Ed White left out that I saw Umar before boarding and that he lit a fake bomb.

I talked to Ed White again today and told him that I would only talk to him if he didn't twist my words around to mean something else. He agreed, but here is the hatchet job Ed White did to my interview with him today. Note that he says I have a "wild theory" among other things:

http://www.charlotteobserver.com/2011/10/05/2666662/final-jury-pool-settled-in-underwear.html

This is the last straw in my discussions with the media. The media is nothing but a 4th branch of the government. I will no longer talk to any of them except the alternative media that has been supportive all along.

Note, however, in the above article, Chambers indicates that I may be the only defense witness called. How ironic is it that I will have Umar's life in my hands just as Umar had my life in his hands (or underwear) on Christmas Day 2009? I will be up to the task. I realize that some may not agree with me and may attempt to harm me. Nevertheless, I will speak the truth and not be intimidated. I will do this for the common good of all of the citizens of the United States. It is not often that I quote a passage from the bible, but I think it is appropriate here:

"And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."

God bless you, Kurt. I am praying hard for you and yours right now and will keep on doing so.

I was always an idealistic person believing in the rule of law and justice and lawyers as the seekers and defenders of justice for all. But lately, I observe corruption of judges and lawyers and total corruption of federal, state, and local courts. So it is good to have some faith and hope in an attorney again.

Please call Darren Weeks and give him an update about the trial when and if you can. I am a big follower of GovernAmerica.com.

Thank you Kurt for your courage effort to bring the truth forward...and be careful...I don't suspect that the powers that be will allow a chain of evidence to come to them...I would suspect that those in that chain of evidence might experience a not so accidental death or loss of memory...I would agree with you that there is something about Umar F. M.'s current personality that "just ain't right"...I don't know if he is defending himself or setting himself up...the second case would suggest that he is being handled with Pavlovian precision by someone who has worked with him for a least two years and this person feels they can create a result with Umar F.M. in a public trial and even take your testimony on in reinforcing the cover story....this case would suggest that you will need to be flexible and alert in testifying...I would like to think that you could bring a couple of pattern breaking thoughts or sentences to court that might be useful for freeing the truth in court... And oh by the way there is a sentence you could use on yourself to remember precisely what the sharp dressed man looked like: "Hey Kurt, I know you don't remember what he looked like, but if you could remember what would be the color of his eyes?" Insert "shape of his ears" " ,"color of his hair" for each detail and you will be able to build a full picture....
So please be careful, please be wise and good fortune in your journey here...I am cheering for the truth coming out...and I am also cheering for you surviving well, the truth coming out...may Blessings and Light surround your and yours....

The truth has to come out, the people really responsible for Umar doing what he tried to do have to be brought to justice.

Stand strong & true brother.

What life thrusts upon us huh? You seem like an honest & courageous person. It is all pretty frightening.

You seem well equipped to handle yourself in this situation. Your story is another great example of the value of alternative media. You can tell your story yourself.

Hi,
I'm living in the Netherlands and know for years now about 911.

So i'm very happy and grateful that you have the courage to stand for truth and dignity.

We all realise that your country is in great danger. In fact we all are.

So you are doing a great job.

I thank you and your family for taking so much effort for forcing the truth out to the public.

You are a true American hero.

Best regards,

Thank you for your courage Sir!
Every time the underwear bomber is mentioned or discussed ,I always refer people to your eyewitness account and to Parick F Kennedy's testamony video. They usually react stunned and surprised, but also confused by the media omitting and ignoring these important elements to this disturbing story.
God bless you and Lori!

Kurt, it has been fascinating to read your blog on your experience. As a union president in Hollywood,(Local 174) I urge my members to keep an open mind to other people's perspectives and their reality. Your summation of recent events is powerful and deserves to be put in documentary form to enlighten those lacking in critical thinking skills. Things are often not as they appear, but arranged for other non-disclosed purposes to benefit a particular group or aim. I wish you the best of luck with your participation in the upcoming trial. I am reminded daily how daft many people are to the particulars of the case - and I agree with your take on this case - it is an obvious ruse as you suspect. Here to support you any way I can help and I'll keep talking your story up! Good luck & all the best to your family!

Lori & Kurt,

First, thank you for the courage and integrity that you are exhibiting. You are both TRUE PATRIOTS. I understand more than most what you are facing. I will pray for you and your family's safety every day.

You guys are now part of a small group of people in America that have an up close and personal relationship with the truth of what has happened to our country.

I think you now understand that 'they' hide right out in the open, fooling so many of the people most of the time.

Truly, I do hope that people that read your story understand that the 'they' in your situation is not 'the government'. It is, more than likely, renegades within the government. There are still some good and honest people within our system that are waiting for truth to be revealed.

As each day of your upcoming testimony draws closer, I urge you to speak more openly, making sure that you and what you have experienced in widely known.

Kurt, because of your profession, you know, more than most, how they will use your words to try and make you look 'crazy'. That is a big part of their MO in these situations. Remember----both of you must choose your words carefully, must not be emotional and must not respond haughtily or with indignation----just steady and firm; your story never changing. They will try to make you both look foolish. Do not give them that power.

Know that you are not alone.I too have an up close and personal relationship with the truth of what has happened to our country.

I wish you and your family peace and safety.

Again, thank you for your courage.

as you will be in a court, a place that deals with cross examination and evidence and expert testimony..

you might also like to mention to the judge that buildings can not possibly fall at freefall acceleration for over two seconds without explosives...

that since 911, the world has been contstantly lied to, and ask him if he believes in any sort of justice at all..

just pretend it ,,,, like this court case, will make a difference.

good luck.

Hello. I was wondering if that car bombing in Monroe the other day has any connection to this case. I called Alex Jones show about it and was hoping he would ask you about it. Seems like a rare coincidence that 1) a car bomb happens in America, 2) it was a lawyers car, 3) it happen a stones through away from you, 4) you are a witness to something that involves government complicity, 5) you and Mr. Chappell frequent the same court.
Be vigilant bro.

Hi Mr. Haskell, I'm sorry you've had a hard reminder of the rule - when there is nothing at stake use the phone, when it matters, keep it in writing. It sounds like you've decided to talk to nobody in media, except the alternatives, and even then I'd be reserved. Big media is not reliable or a friend of the people.

Luckily there is a Lot of new interest in issues such as these thanks to the unruly president's recent actions. Just thought to say hello and don't worry.

Kurt, your being called as a witness for the defense brings to mind both Hitchcock and The Twilight Zone.

But were I the Underwear Bomber, I wouldn't stop there. I would call the airline to find out if it is common for people to fly internationally without passports and why was I let on the plane. Who was it that got me on the flight?

The very best.

Did you see this yet?

FBI and DEA agents have disrupted a plot to commit a "significant terrorist act in the United States" tied to Iran, federal officials told ABC News today.

The officials said the plot included the assassination of the Saudi Arabian ambassador to the United States, Adel Al-Jubeir, with a bomb and subsequent bomb attacks on the Saudi and Israeli embassies in Washington, D.C.

Do you think this is an attempt to turn the focus away from the trial in Detroit and another conspiracy/FBI set up?

Interested in your take.

I wonder if such an admission to manufacturing evidence would be admissible in UFM's trial? We all know there is a pattern here and a pattern that the jury should be aware of during their deliberations.

I too saw this latest bomber story and one thing that seems glaringly clear is that this is being framed as an intended attack on Saudi and on the US by Iran. We have all known that, at some point, we would be looking at possible war w/Iran. Looks like they might be heading in that direction.

I thought the Mexican drug cartel connection was interesting considering all that has been revealed regarding our gov's involvement in that the last couple of weeks.

There would be no way to thank you enough for what you are doing to protect the liberties of your fellow Americans.

You are true patriots of our time.

A good quote that reminds me of you guys:
"Follow the path of the unsafe, independent thinker. Expose your ideas to the dangers of controversy. Speak your mind and fear less the label of "crackpot" than the stigma of conformity. And on issues that seem important to you, stand up and be counted at any cost."

Interesting development. What do you guys think happened that he plead guilty?

Terry said...

And just as Kurt feared, Umar has pleaded guilty! As the Church Lady on SNL used to say, "How convenient!"

I suspect Umar and his handlers were teasing Kurt with the possibility of having an opportunity to present his own testimony. They knew all along that he would plead guilty and take the case out of the courtroom trial.

And in the alleged Iranian plot to assassinate a Saudi ambassador, how convenient (and incredible - as in NOT credible) that the alleged perps should choose a Mexican drug cartel hit man who was working for the US Government! What are the chances of that happening? Considering the corruption within our government and the long-time involvement of our national security agencies in its trafficking, maybe not so surprising after all. Don't forget the recent scandal concerning the ATB.

Anonymous said...

I think they tortured him until he agreed.

A.C. McCloud said...

Why plead guilty? Maybe because going ahead with the trial and calling Mr Haskell--so he could insinuate that CIA/FBI manipulated the bomb and only got him on the plane so he could be used as a pawn for the security industry--would greatly diminish Abdul's status as the lion-hearted jihadist and suggest that America had a mole inside AQAP. So maybe he was following instructions. They claim there was no deal brokered.

He was going to be found guilty anyway, so the only point of continuing was to score propaganda hits for AQ against the Great Satan.

I really love you guys. This is really an important case and it takes amazing courage to do what Kurt and his wife are doing. What amazes me is what in the heck does our government do to get Umar to basically commit suicide. Is it remote mind suggestion? Umar's family is rich and not to seek the best legal representation reeks of something, torture, mind suggestion. I pray something unexpected happens to mess up the bad guys. Doesn't Umar know not getting the best legal representation money can buy guarantees the death of more Arabs and the continuation of what he finds fault. I assume Attorney Chambers is a hired hand of the bad guys and he is just saying Kurt will be called by the defense to keep Kurt out of the courtroom. Convicting Umar takes the civil rights away from every honest American. I am not a very good Geek but I am going to try and figure out how to get my post posted.

Go Kurt go. God be with you. ...just read on infowars that you are going to sue feds regarding 'underwear bomber' I was disappointed to see he pled guilty and you wouldn't get your chance to tell the truth in that setting. What I've come across with folks is that they get defensive when told, for example, 911 was an inside job, etc. then, they either don't want to believe it, can't believe it or won't believe it. If we can address that psychology and help the masses get beyond that, then restoration to consitutional government can return.
God's blessings.

Kurt & Lori,

Just came across this article, that the defendant pleads guilty to the charges, according to this recent article (from the Aussie version of NPR) covering the trail:

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2011-10-13/undie-bomber-pleads-guilty-to-all-charges/3564188

Since you are a witness to his case, which he is now pleaded guilty to, correct me if I'm wrong; does that mean technically you're a witness to an alleged guilty person?
Does this means the defendant will have to prove his own guilt in court.

How does this pan out, in the legal scheme of things and what is the end game?

Is there a media blackout for witness and the jury. Or is it just for the jury?

Anonymous said...

Interesting development. What do you guys think happened that he plead guilty?

no truth
no justice
the american way

Randy Crow said...

The underwear bomber pleading guilty just proves our government probably tortured him for two years and the guy lost his mind. It proves the government knew it could not stand up to Kurt's truth and had to do something quick to rig the trial. The bad guys' know I am a pain in the ass as well and I had fully intended to put everything I have to proving the bad guys are behind Umar from day one. What a communi$t police state we live. Bad day for America. And the bad guys went to all the trouble to kill Awlaki just to convict Umar and have one big propaganda fest. At least Kurt stopped the propaganda fest tied to Awalaki and Umar. One of these days we will prove a communi$t dirty deed. At least we know the coward manipulators, those behind 911, the economic meltdown, ect. are running scared.

Unknown said...

Just heard that the UB is pleading guilty! Ha-ha! Guess you scared them, Kurt!

I wonder what they had to do to him to "convince" him. What a joke this case is.

Anonymous said...

Kurt,
I'm anxious to hear of your plans for a civil suit now. Keep us posted. Thanks.

Rob said...

Two things are obvious:
(1) Umar really thinks he was part of the phantom "Al Qaeda" group, even though he'd been duped all along.

(2) They obviously got to Umar and forced/conned him to plead guilty. Umar probably thinks he's going to get a deal, but he'll soon find out he has been conned and will (in time) retract his guilty plea and call for a new hearing. A new hearing will never be. But...the damage is already done. They did what they wanted to and that was to NOT allow Mr. Haskell to testify.

Anonymous said...

So with him pleading guilty. No evidence will be shown in court. Meaning nothing gets revealed. I know this sounds weird. But I'm really sorry to hear this. You have been working on uncovering the truth. Which I believe you have. It will never be in court. I finally opened my eyes last year and probably share all the feelings you share about where this country is headed. I hope that some day soon the truth will come out. Thank you for unearthing all of this and sticking to it!
