Book Suggestions

OK, girls! I need suggestions! I am not very knowledgable about authors, books, etc., mostly because I never have time to really read.

I need help.

I am leaving for vacay on Dec 15 and will gone until Dec 25. I am going to have several flights, and a yacht, to read on. So, I need to buy a few books to take with me. I hate buying at the airport, because it's so much cheaper online.

Here is what I tend to gravitate towards: I do not like intellectual reading. I do that ALL DAY at my office, and when I want to relax, I don't want to "think" or analyze or whatever. I like fiction. I LOVE Jackie Collins. She is prob my fav author. So the "beach sex girlie novel" is kinda what I am looking for. I have read some other authors as well, such as Danielle Steele, etc., but am looking for something new. Oh, and I loved the Sophie Kinsella (sp?) series.

Any suggestions? :). Thanks in advance.

I've started reading books by Kate White. They're pretty good. She has a few different books out: If Looks Could Kill, Till Death Do Us Part, Over Her Dead Body & Lethally Blond. They're mystery/romance books. James Patterson is also a really good author.

OH! OH! Sundowners and Saffron Skies, both by Lesley Lokko. LOVE THEM! Friendship, romance, international intrigue - - love them. I can't recommend them enough!

I'm SO embarrassed, but....the Twilight series is like total crack.

Not "girlie novel," but...meh...I thought I'd throw it out there anyway...I don't like heavy reading in my free time, either.

I'm a huge fan of Jane Green and Emily Giffin. In fact I'm reading "Love the one you're with" by Giffin now and it's good. Granted, not an intellectual read but still fun and girlie. Too bad we didn't live by each other. I own all their books so you could have had your pick :)

And it goes without saying that I'm a major fan of the Twilight series. Not something I ever dreamed of liking but I got sucked in anyway!

Lori, last summer when I flew to NYC I was hooked on "Something Borrowed" by Emily Giffin. Very fun, light read ....haven't read any of her others but this one was addicting! I recommend it.

Lipstick Jungle (Candace Bushnell) was also good. Have fun reading!

Marian Keyes - her books are sort of chick lit, but much more well written. All set in Ireland or with Irish people, and SUPER fun and great. My favorite is "Last Chance Saloon." Also recommend "Scarlett Feather" by Maeve Binchy, super fun read. Also "First Wives Club" by Olympia (or olivia, can't remember) goldsmith :)
